libretto42

Surtitle hardware: Equipment that simply runs — for years.

From the seat to the server room: every device is built for continuous use in the theatre. It runs independently of the internet and can be maintained remotely.

Seat display

Not a text panel.
A managed computer at the seat.

The seat display isn’t an off-the-shelf device; it was developed specifically for mounting on theatre seats — and designed for intensive use over many years.

  • Made in Germany

Developed and manufactured in Germany by our partner DH electronics.

  • Made to fit your venue

We adapt size, bracket, frame and mounting to your seats, not the other way round.

  • Built for continuous use

Devices and spare parts remain available for at least 10 years.

  • Instantly ready

Starts in under 10 seconds and shows the content you want straight away, no long boot-up before curtain up.

  • Silent

No fan, no operating noise during the performance.

  • One cable per row

The devices in each row are daisy-chained.

In-house server

Runs in the building.
Independent of the internet.

A server sits right in the building and handles the entire operation during the performance — only the translation and preparation tasks happen in the cloud.

  1. In the cloud

      • Translate the librettoIn the Cloud Editor, from anywhere
      • Update the infotainmentIn the CMS
  2. In the house, even offline

    1. Player at the deskOne click shows the next text
    2. Server in the houseHas all the data stored, supplies every device and monitors them with Maestro
      • Seat displaysSubtitles and infotainment at every seat
  • Fail-safe

The server stores librettos and infotainment and keeps them up to date while there is internet. If it goes down or the connection is weak, the performance runs reliably on what is stored.

  • All in one device

Instead of many separate systems: the server supplies every device, runs the infotainment, monitors everything via Maestro and collects statistics.

  • Mobile demo version

For demonstrations without a fixed installation there is a portable version with seat displays.

Distribution & playback

From the control room
to every screen
in the building

Prepared videos, images and texts appear on every screen in the building, in venues of any size.

Synchronised playback on several tablets / seat displays
  • Synced video

Videos play on all seat displays in sync and without stutter, designed for venues with more than 900 seats.

  • LED wall & projection

The Desktop Player drives the LED wall and projection directly through the existing connections (HDMI).

  • Existing equipment

Even older equipment can be connected, including systems never meant for libretto42.

  • libretto42 Connector

A compact box for surtitling, also available on its own, for instance for smaller venues.

  • SIGPlay42 Duo

A compact player with two outputs, developed together with signage42.
